Payment Terms
Payment for all products and services is due on the date specified on the monthly Champlain Technology Group statement. Balances over thirty (30) days are subject to a 1.5% late charge. Failure to pay the total balance when due shall constitute a breach of the service agreement and may be grounds for disconnection of service. Whenever a check is returned by a bank for unavailable funds, insufficient funds, or account closure, Champlain Technology will charge a processing fee of $6.95 for each check returned. In addition, any bank fees that are incurred by Champlain Technology as a result of the returned check will also be charged to the customer who issued the check. Unsuccessful autopay transactions will result in a returned payment fee of $6.95 per occurrence.
Promotional Pricing
Where promotional pricing is offered by Champlain Technology Group, the following conditions apply. Promotional pricing is available to new customers only and cannot be combined with any other offer, discount, or promotion. Seasonal customers, defined as customers who suspend their telephone or internet service for any portion of the year, are not eligible for promotional pricing. To receive promotional pricing, customers must be enrolled in autopay and paperless billing at the time of sign-up and must maintain both throughout the promotional period. Promotional pricing is subject to change and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.
Equipment
Customer acknowledges that all service equipment provided by Champlain Technology Group (CTG) remains the property of CTG unless otherwise agreed to in writing. The customer is responsible for the return of all leased equipment, in good working order, reasonable wear and tear expected, when service is terminated, when the equipment is replaced, or upon CTG’s request. Returned equipment is expected to be reasonably clean and free from excessive dirt, debris, residue, smoke contamination, pest infestation, or other conditions requiring extraordinary cleaning or refurbishment prior to reuse.
Champlain Technology Group (CTG) reserves the right to inspect and assess the condition of all returned equipment. If, in CTG’s reasonable determination, the equipment is returned damaged, altered, missing components, excessively soiled, unsanitary, or in a condition beyond normal wear and tear, the Customer may be charged for cleaning, refurbishment, or replacement as determined by CTG. Refurbishment and/or cleaning will be charged at CTG’s current time and material rates. Failure to return the provided service equipment will result in a charge for the full replacement cost.
Installation of Fiber Optic Service
Standard aerial installation for fiber optic service to the home is free of charge. Effective April 1, 2025, there is a charge for burying fiber optic service to the home. A cost estimate will be provided in advance for those interested. 25% of the cost is required in advance before installation begins.
Fiber Optic Telephone Service During Power Outages
Champlain Technology Group customers that receive telephone service via fiber optic cable or fixed wireless applications have communication equipment residing on the customer’s premises that requires electrical power in the home in order to operate. As is the case with cordless phones, your Champlain Technology Group equipment will not work in the event of a power outage and you will not be able to make or receive calls, including 911 calls. As a courtesy, Champlain Technology Group will provide an emergency battery back-up with the equipment installed at your home. In the event of a power failure, the battery back-up will automatically protect your service for up to 8 hours depending upon usage. Customers may purchase other battery back-up packs for longer protection at third-party retail locations at their own cost.
